Working in Dubai without a UAE national ID card or without the right type of work visa is not an option. That is why the authorities in Dubai have drawn up a system that will help you prove your identity if you so desire. It is called the Dubai Immigration Facilitation System and it was implemented in January 2021. This facilitation system is one that will help you work in Dubai without the risk of being refused a visa and then having to work in a different country altogether.
If you have not arrived in the emirate within the past two months, you cannot apply for a tourist visa. This is the same as the rules for arriving into the United States. You can work in Dubai after you have obtained a visitor visa through the regular application channels, but you cannot apply for a job without a valid visa. Without a valid tourist visa, you cannot even visit Dubai. So if you are planning a trip to the United Arab Emirates, you should remember that you can’t leave without a valid visa.
The easiest way to work in Dubai without a visa is to obtain a work permit. This is often called an EK2 work permit or an international mobile worker’s permit. It does not take long to process and once you get approved for it, you can start arriving in Dubai in two months. Once you have obtained a work permit, you can then apply for your Dubai residency card and then proceed to get a permanent resident card after one year.
The second way to work in Dubai legally without risk is to get an exception to the tourist visa requirement for the country. This means that if you are from a country that requires a visa for entry, you can skip the tourist visa requirement and apply for an employment contract instead. This is sometimes known as an “off visa” or “perm visa.” Applying for an exception requires a lot of careful consideration. You have to be able to provide proof that you have a job offer in the UAE and that your contract offers salary that exceeds the ordinary stipulations set by the law.
One other option for you to work in Dubai legally is to get an exception to the stay requirement for the 180 days preceding your departure. This is called a “special vacation visa.” There is a much higher demand for these types of work permit than there are for the tourist visa. You will usually need to have a detailed business plan and at least three years of experience in the area in which you intend to work in Dubai. Some of the times when people apply for this exception are when they are traveling between countries or when their business has finished in one country and they want to work in another.
Another option for you to work in Dubai is to get an exit visa. An exit visa is valid for only a maximum of ninety days and can be renewed if you visit the country once more. To get an exit visa, you can visit the Dubai justice department and apply for an E-Entry visa. You will need to provide all the necessary documents such as your passport, business permits and residence visa. If you are a British citizen then you may also be eligible for a British visa. You should apply for an E Entry visa as soon as possible as they get more popular with expatriates from certain countries.
